HOW TO USE A MAGNIFYING GLASS TO MAKE FIRE (VIDEO)

Is using a magnifying glass a legit way to make a fire?

YouTuber Shawn Woods decided to try it out on camera.

Sit back and see just how well a magnifying glass can do to make a fire when used correctly.

In many fire kits a magnifying glass is included. Is this a good way to make fire?

The answer to that is strong sunlight and very dry well prepared tinder. As you can see in this video it might take a bit of time to get the whisps of smoke that let you know you are correctly holding the magnifying glass. The above factors are all quite important but in a more cloudy environment this would certainly not be my pick as a fire starter.

Practice makes perfect and fire making is especially true in that regard. Be prepared when you need it most by research and above all practice.
